South Lakes Safari Zoo

A great day out for all the family south lakes zoo is home to over 1000 of the rarest and most endangered animals in unique natural environments.

These environments enable you to get close to these amazing creatures which we share our planet with. Wander among Kangaroos, Wallabies, and Emus, be amazed at the free flying Macaws that soar overhead and participate in one or all our feeding experiences.

The zoo has animals from Africa including Rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, and Wildebeests. There are wild cats, Lions, Tigers, Snow Leopards, and Jaguars as well as primates including Apes, Monkeys, Tarsiers, and Lemurs. There are also animals like Meer cats and Sloths and so much more.

We visited the zoo as 2 adults and 2 children and had a fantastic time. The animals were all well looked after and the staff knowledgeable and interesting. You can just wander around the zoo, seeing the animals and interacting, or you can add extras on to your day out, that include feeding the giraffes and lemurs. Our favourite was feeding the lemurs. It was very interactive and lots of fun.
