These Keswick options are just some of our personal favourites – all of which are dog friendly simply because we like to take Jazz and Merlin out with us whenever possible, but they also serve good food with a great atmosphere.
But don’t worry if these aren’t your favs, there are plenty of other places to try in Keswick!
Lake Road Brunch
Cool. Contemporary. Currently Keswick's place to be. Pancakes to die for, coffee that'll make you close your eyes and smell...well, the coffee, and options for vegetarian and vegan fare coming out of their ears. There's even a dedicated menu for our four-legged fur-babies who are more than welcome. I can highly recommend the classic stack, while Louise keeps her options open and ranges from the Dosa, to the Hallumi BLT or the Hallumi eggs benny. But truly, if you can't find something on this menu that you fancy...try a cocktail then take another look.

The Royal Oak
Known for offering some of the best pub grub in Keswick the food is traditional, uncomplicated, and all locally sourced.

The Dog and Gun
A local favourite that is renowned country wide for its goulash and friendly atmosphere. Muddy boots and dogs very welcome; a true walkers pub. And the Thursday night quiz is always popular, so get there early if you want a good seat...or just a seat.

The Round
If you like burgers, then this is the place to head to. Seriously. With nothing but burgers (and fries of course) on the menu, they have 10 varieties of these bad boys. From the Summits Burn to the Pike O'Pickle, the Katsu Bells, the Sharpe Vedge, or the Harrisa Stickle...I gaurantee you'll find a burger to burst those taste buds. Veggie and vegan options are available for most of their burger styles so don't feel you are limited if you're meat free or plant based.

Cassa Bella
Italian restaurant Ice cream shop and coffee bar. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Keswick it does however get very, very busy so it’s always worth booking. Cassa Bella serves freshly cooked pasta and pizza plus steaks and chicken is also on the menu. For desert, there are gelato’s and homemade ice cream definitely worth a visit. They do also do takeaways.

The Woodstone Pizza & Flame Grill Restaurant
Sit in or take away, Woodstone has a huge traditional wood fired pizza oven which you can see them using in restaurant. Very entertaining for the kids, and very tasty. Pizzas, burgers, kebabs and steak, with the usual sides. Portion sizes are large, so expect to leave well fed. It can get very busy during the season, so do book ahead unless you don't mind a long wait, or a take away.

Inn on the square
Located in the centre of Keswick the inn on the Square has various options for you. The bar overlooking Keswick main street serving fantastic coffee and scones for a little snack or there is also a full bar menu that’s worth sampling. For the evening, the steak restaurant is exceptional we took Dave for Father’s Day and he keeps asking when he can go back, bless him – definitely worth a visit if you like your steaks.
The Fellpack
The Fellpack are into reimagining classics, with a short, seasonal and somewhat eclectic menu where you might find a Japanese dish sat next to their take on neeps and haggis. This is still on our hit list, but one I've heard great things about, and Simon Gurndy (the head chef) is someone who's food I've eaten many times before, and can say hand on heart, I've always loved it.

Merienda
Artisan coffee and delectable cakes, sandwiches or a globally-inspired evening menu, Merienda offers them all using locally sourced, seasonal produce. It has a great atmosphere and set up for socialising and chillin' with friends and family, but can get really, really busy. So totally depends on the vibe you like. While I enjoy the food, I ususally find it a bit too loud and crowded for my tastes. But I have often been called a hermit...and I own it.
Square orange
Café bar by day and live venue by night, this small venue is a great little find whatever the time of day. There is a good lunch menu for day time snacks or meals and the coffee is excellent in the evening this turns into a bar which often has live music playing. There’s tapas on offer along with stone baked pizzas. Its dog friendly too.
Jaspers Coffee House
I like this place for a coffee and a cake or light lunch while I’m in Keswick. You always seem to be able to get a spot and the dogs are welcome even when we’ve just walked down from the fell. It’s quite new and slightly out of the main centre right at the top of town but don’t let this put you off. You’ll find them on Facebook as they don’t have a website

Mrs F’s Fine Food Emporium
This is a quirky friendly place for a homemade scone, cake, or soup. Everyone’s welcome again I’ve popped in here for a coffee after a day’s walking with muddy boots, woofs in tow, and felt right at home. Definitely worth a visit if your passing it’s a lovely atmosphere and everyone’s friendly and welcoming.
