Bluebells and Rannerdale Knotts

For years now I've read about the bluebells at Rannerdale Knotts, a National Trust site and a tourist attraction for the valley.

We’ve walked Rannerdale Knotts, a small Wainwright with a fantastic view, and know the area so we thought it was time to go have a look at this spring attraction above Crummock Water just a short drive over Whinlatter Pass from Kestrel Lodge.

I could not believe how busy it was; but what a sight! A sea of blue in the valley as far as the eye can see.

There are so many places to take photos and if you fancy a walk I’d defiantly recommend Rannerdale Knotts. It’s a short steep climb, but oh what a view!

So, if you’re around the Northern Lakes in late May and early June, it’s well worth a visit to see the lovely bluebells at this National Trust Heritage site.
